Seattle Liposuction
If you are not sure what liposuction is, it is a surgical procedure that many Seattle liposuction qualified surgeons use to provide refinement to your figure. This means that liposuction is NOT a method for weight loss or a "shortcut" to becoming thinner.
The amounts of fat removed during a liposuction procedure are actually quite small, and the patient does not lose much weight. The great thing about liposuction is that the surgeon can use it to remove fat from targeted areas of the body that are often resistant to efforts to lose weight in patients who have, overall, already taken off a lot of pounds.
Surgeons commonly use liposuction to target fat in the hips, buttocks, thighs, arms, chin and neck, love handles and stomach and many other specific areas. Even with vigorous exercise fat in these areas often will not go away and the patient must rely on the surgeon to make the final adjustments. By using several types of specialized equipment,
Seattle liposuction surgeons are able to do the final contouring of the patient's body.
By using a suction device, the surgeon is able to literally vacuum out the fat from the problem areas. Often liposuction is also used on men to reduce the size of male breasts by removing fat from the pectoralis area.
Seattle liposuction have indicated that patients who possess firm, elastic skin and small concentrated areas of fat benefit the most from the procedure.
For the results to look good, the skin must contract to conform to the new contours without sagging. Since skin needs to be elastic on good liposuction candidates, older people with less elastic skin may not be recommended to have the procedure.
It can vary with the size of the treated area, but most patients are able to return to their normal activities in 1 or 2 weeks. But to fully recover from the procedure, it will usually take a patient 2 or 3 months. For the first few weeks after surgery, many surgeons recommend wearing a compression garment.
Ultrasound Assisted Liposculpture Surgery
The newest liposuction variant is a procedure called Ultrasound-assisted Liposculpture, often referred to by its abbreviation "UAL". The metal probe used in UAL procedures has the ability to produce high frequency, ultrasonic sounds. The fat cells next to the sound emitting UAL probe are actually liquified and then removed by suction.
The UAL technique does not produce as much tissue damage or bleeding, so larger amounts of fat can be removed. Compared with traditional liposuction, UAL also produces less bruising. The results of UAL are usually smoother, decreasing the chance of contour irregularity, which can sometimes occurs after traditional liposuction.
You should be aware that the UAL technique is recommended only for certain areas of the body, so you should rely on your surgeon to recommend whether is is appropriate for you. Do not be surprised if UAL treatments cost significantly more than traditional liposuction, since the equipment is quite expensive. Early UAL machines of the first two generations have been linked to cases of skin damage caused by overly powerful sound waves, but third and later generations do not have this problem.
When you have found the Seattle liposuction surgeon you want to use for the procedure, you may find that they recommend using a combination of techniques to achieve the desired result.
